About the Opportunity
Bondwoods Transport (Aust) is seeking aproactive and experienced Safety & Compliance Officerto oversee and drive compliance across its transport operations.
This role is critical to ensuring the business meets allNHVL, HVNL, Road Transport Law and Chain of Responsibility (CoR)obligations, while continuously improving safety, systems, and compliance outcomes.
You'll work closely with drivers, management, and senior leadership, playing a hands‐on role in audits, investigations, training, and operational compliance.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Ensure compliance withNHVL, HVNL, Road Transport Laws and CoR obligations
Manage heavy vehicleaccreditations, permits, maintenance schedules and compliance documentation
Investigate and resolvecompliance breaches, incidents and non‐conformances
Maintain accurate compliance records and support reporting and data entry
Develop, review and maintainpolicies, procedures and training materials
Oversee onboarding and ongoing compliance foremployees and subcontractors
Coordinate and participate ininternal and external compliance audits
Conduct audits ofinsurance, registrations, licences and pre‐start checks
Analyse fleet performance and compliance data to supportcontinuous improvement
Work collaboratively with operations, drivers and leadership to embed safety culture
What We're Looking For
To be successful, you will have:
Minimum 3 years' experiencein transport compliance, auditing or risk management
Strong working knowledge of Australian transport legislation, including:




NHVR / NHVL
HVNL
Chain of Responsibility (CoR)
Mass Management
Load Restraint
Maintenance Management
Experience withtransport management systems, such as:
Gearbox
V-DAQ
TN360
Rapid Global
High attention to detail with strong integrity and objectivity
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage drivers, managers and senior leadership
A proactive mindset focused oncontinuous improvement
