Save the Children Australia

Brisbane

Queensland is a diverse, complex and fast-moving state for 54 reasons, with programs, partnerships and advocacy spanning metropolitan, regional and remote communities.
As Executive Officer to the State Director, you'll play a key role in helping bring focus, coordination and momentum to this work — supporting the decisions, relationships and systems that enable our teams to deliver meaningful change for children, young people and families.
You'll be the State Director's trusted right hand: helping steer priorities, shape decisions and keep critical work moving across Queensland.
This is more than executive support.
You'll bring clarity to complexity, coordinate high-level stakeholder engagement, and turn information into action.
If you're a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments and loves bringing structure to competing priorities, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.
54 reasons is Australia's leading child rights organisation, no ordinary not-for-profit.
Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we're here to make sure that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.
With the child's voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities.
From our programs to our support services, this is the place to realise your purpose.
A place to make a difference:
In this full-time, permanent role, you'll work as part of our Queensland Leadership Team in Brisbane to help us create lasting change for children everywhere.
You will make a difference by:
Providing strategic advice, coordination and executive support to the Queensland State Director.
Preparing high-quality briefings, reports, board papers and communications that support informed decision-making
Building strong relationships with government, partners, funders and senior stakeholders
Coordinating strategic initiatives, governance activities and cross-functional projects across the state
Managing critical information, contracts and reporting processes to ensure priorities are delivered efficiently and effectively

A place to feel valued
Your deep expertise in executive coordination, strategic advisory support and information management will be invaluable.
You're highly organised, politically astute and solutions-focused, with the ability to cut through complexity and create clarity.
You communicate with influence, build trusted relationships quickly, and exercise sound judgement in fast-moving environments.
This role requires:
Significant experience in a senior advisory, executive coordination, chief-of-staff or similar role.
Exceptional written communication skills, including preparing briefs, reports, board papers and executive correspondence
Demonstrated experience supporting senior leaders and governance processes in a complex organisation
Strong stakeholder management skills, ideally including engagement with government and external partners
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant equivalent professional experience.
A place to belong
At 54 reasons, we invest in the development and wellbeing of our people.
Our workforce is approximately 600 people strong, and proudly diverse, whether in race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexuality, cultures and beliefs.
