Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Officer
to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and driving our HSEQ systems across multiple divisions and project sites.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the ongoing development, implementation and continuous improvement of Firesafe Group's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management System.
This is a varied, hands-on role that combines strategic planning with practical site support. You will work closely with managers, supervisors and employees to ensure legislative compliance, strengthen our safety culture, support injury management and maintain our ISO management systems.
Regular travel to project sites throughout Western Australia will form part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
As our HSEQ Officer, you will:
Develop, implement and continually improve Firesafe Group's HSEQ management systems, policies, procedures and training.
Lead and conduct HSEQ audits, inspections and workplace risk assessments across office and construction sites.
Investigate incidents, hazards and near misses, identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
Support managers with risk management, safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor and report on HSEQ performance, trends and compliance metrics.
Maintain compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act,



Regulations, Australian Standards and company policies.
Maintain and improve ISO **** Quality Management and ISO ***** Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems across all Firesafe divisions.
Work with operational teams to ensure project HSEQ Plans are effectively implemented and maintained.
Deliver engaging safety inductions, toolbox talks and training programs to employees and contractors.
Coordinate employee training records, licences and competency requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
Manage chemical and hazardous substance compliance.
Coordinate workers' compensation, injury management and return-to-work programs, working closely with employees, managers, medical providers and insurers.
Assist in reducing workplace injuries through proactive rehabilitation and early intervention strategies.
Manage insurance claims relating to company vehicles and equipment.
Travel to project sites to provide coaching, mentoring and practical HSEQ support to operational teams.
About You
You are a proactive HSEQ skilled who enjoys building relationships, influencing positive safety behaviors and driving continuous improvement across a growing organisation.
Essential Requirements
Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum).
Demonstrated experience in a Health, Safety or HSEQ role within the construction, fire protection,



mining or related industries.
Sound knowledge of Australian Work Health and Safety legislation, regulations and industry standards.
Experience implementing and maintaining HSEQ management systems.
Strong incident investigation, auditing and risk management skills.
Experience coordinating injury management and return-to-work programs.
Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
Current Construction White Card.
Current C Class Driver's Licence.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Desirable
Diploma in Work Health & Safety.
Lead Auditor qualification.
Return to Work Coordinator accreditation.
First Aid Certificate.
Drug and Alcohol Testing qualifications.
Experience maintaining ISO **** and ISO ***** certification.
Experience in the fire protection, electrical or construction industries.
