The opportunity

Are you keen to be part of a professional team working together to support the safety, well-being and positive life outcomes for children and young people in the child protection and Out of Home Care / Foster Care systems in Regional NSW?
As a Caseworker Support / Casework Support Scheme Worker, you will be primarily responsible for provision of support and assistance to the Out of Home Care Caseworkers and Team Leader.
The successful applicant will work within a supportive and passionate team at
Riverina Medical & Dental Aboriginal Corporation
to deliver these services and to ensure the best culturally appropriate therapeutic outcomes for Aboriginal children, young people and their families. This position is an identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander position.
The Role
The Casework Support Worker will contribute to keeping children, young people and families safe by undertaking tasks which support:
case planning and documentation;
referrals and appointment;
case visits;
safe, reliable and supportive transport of children and their families;
Supervise 'family time' contact visits:
coordination of logistical arrangements for meetings and other information sharing activities; and
day to day team priorities.
The Casework Support Worker will ensure direct support to Caseworkers and the Team Leader is delivered to a high professional standard by maintaining support practices in line with established RivMed policies and procedures, Office of Children's Guardian (OCG) standards and in compliance with relevant legislation.

About You
Aboriginality - This is an identified Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander position and candidates will be required to provide confirmation of Aboriginality. (NB: applicants race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act ****, NSW)
Minimum qualification is a Cert IV in Community Services (or wiliness to undertake training to obtain); or equivalent relevant skills and experience.
Willingness to engage and work effectively with Aboriginal people and communities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to works as a supportive and cooperative team member, share information and acknowledge others efforts.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team,
Demonstrate accountability and willingness to take direction and provide written reports.
