Job Summary
Altus Group is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with 5-10 years of experience to join our Development Advisory division in our Sydney office.
The role reports to the Associate Director and involves managing construction costs and ensuring financial efficiency throughout construction stages.
Job Responsibilities
Provide detailed and accurate cost advice to clients, including preparing cash flows, pricing estimates, cost plans, measuring quantities for variations and BOQs.
Be technically proficient in all aspects of pre- and post-contract QS services and complete complex trade and elemental take‐offs.
Assist in VM preparation and attend design team meetings.
Undertake site visits and complete valuations of work completed on site.
Amend, update, reconcile cost reports and undertake cost analysis and writing of monthly reports.
Review financing agreements and understand funding arrangements.
Meet and manage clients and other professional consultants.
Establish client requirements, undertake feasibility studies, and maintain ongoing client communication to resolve issues expeditiously.
Manage a team of Quantity Surveyors, including mentoring junior employees.
Use appropriate software and technology, e.g. MS Office, Buildsoft and Cost X.
Job Requirements
Expertise and accreditation in Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
Minimum 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience.
Membership in an approved Professional Body (preferred e.g., AIQS, RICS, CIOB).
Advanced knowledge of the local construction industry including development, contracting and consulting sectors.




Strong analytical and problem‐solving abilities.
Self‐motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated skills in client file management, planning and organisation.
