Job Description
As a Trainee Business Support Officer, you will work alongside experienced planning and development professionals, supporting the administrative and customer service functions of the team.
You will develop practical skills in business administration, records management, data entry, and customer enquiries, while learning how development applications and planning processes are managed.
This role combines structured training with hands‐on experience, giving you exposure to a range of planning and development activities.
This traineeship is a fantastic opportunity to build transferable business skills, develop professional confidence, and contribute to essential Council services while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
This Position Will Complete a Two-year Certificate IV In Business Online Through Central Queensland University.

About the Candidate
Willingness to be part of, and promote, a positive safety culture whilst adhering to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Minimum completed of Year 10 with passes in English and Mathematics.
Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers' licence (or ability to obtain).
Sound written and verbal communication skills.
Sound computer skills.
Ability to work effectively and be positively involved within a team workplace.
Complete all training and assessment requirements of a Certificate IV in Business as per the provided training plan.
This includes attending and participating in structured formal learning at the nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as well as keeping an accurate and up to date training record book.
Work Environment
Salary Range: $23,920 - $49,296 per annum + super, based on schooling level completion, years out of school and age upon commencement.
