About the role
We are looking for an experienced, safety conscious Mechanical Maintainer to join Rio Tinto's Dampier ports operation.
The purpose of this role will be to provide a safe and efficient facility through the execution of mechanical fault finding, planned and opportune maintenance.
This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical Maintainer who wants to be part of a friendly and high performing team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team.
This role operates on a 5/5/4 Sportsman roster.
This is a residential only from Dampier or Karratha.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working in a cooperative community, the role will require you to:
Complete preventative/corrective/planned /operational maintenance for all equipment in the fixed plant area, including but not limited to, conveyors, balanced machines, car dumpers
Conduct routine inspections of all fixed plant assets
Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with company policies and procedures
Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects by increasing safety whilst reducing risk and cost
Utilise SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded,



assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification
Isolate equipment for maintenance and operational tasks
What you'll bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
A Mechanical Engineering/Fitting/Fabrication Trade Qualification
Experience working on the following equipment: car dumpers, stackers, reclaimers and shiploaders
Proficiency in motor/gearbox, Pulley and Bucketwheel changeouts, Laser Alignment, and Rigging experience as well as ability to conduct high quality maintenance inspections.
Working at Heights, confined space, EWP, Forklift tickets/license
A Manual C-class Australian driver's licence (HR desirable)
