What's the role?
Seeking a dedicated journalist to report in the field as a video journalist for News24 and cover a wide variety of stories including news, sport and weather across Perth and Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
Report live and write news packages as a video journalist using a mobile kit.
Attend news conferences, conduct interviews and gather news on a wide range of issues.
Work closely with the News24 team and liaise with senior editorial staff in Sydney to decide upon news coverage.
Build and maintain a network of contacts to enable you to break stories.
Capacity to shoot, write, edit and present news stories from start to finish, on a daily basis (training provided on operating a video journalist kit).
File for digital platforms.
Pitch original news stories and ideas.
Who are you?
Experience in news reporting, including the ability to gather, assess and comprehend relevant news information and present it in an informative manner for our audience.
Sound writing skills and news judgement with experience in live and breaking news.
Excellent time management skills, the ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.
Solid understanding of media law.
