Digger King is seeking a reliable and practical Yard Manager to oversee our Ballarat machinery display and yard.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is organised, takes pride in their workplace and is comfortable dealing with customers, transport companies and machinery.
Key responsibilities:
* Managing the day-to-day presentation and operation of the Ballarat yard
* Keeping the entire site secure, clean, neat and well organised
* Receiving machinery, equipment, parts and other deliveries
* Inspecting incoming deliveries and reporting any damage or discrepancies
* Coordinating customer pickups and transport movements
* Showing customers through machinery and displays when they visit
* Answering basic customer questions and referring sales enquiries to our sales team
* Keeping track of machinery entering and leaving the yard
* Ensuring machines are correctly positioned, labelled and ready for display or collection
* Carrying out basic machinery checks, including fluid levels, batteries and general condition
* Taking photos of incoming or outgoing equipment when required
* Promptly reporting any security, maintenance or presentation issues
About you:
* Reliable, trustworthy and capable of working independently
* Friendly, skilled and confident dealing with customers
* Well organised, with good attention to detail
* Practical and comfortable working around earthmoving machinery
* Basic knowledge of excavators, loaders or similar equipment is preferred
* Able to use a phone, email and basic computer systems
* Physically capable of performing normal yard duties
* A current driver's licence is required
* A forklift licence and previous machinery, transport, yard or equipment experience would be an advantage
