DJ Custom Cabinets is seeking a motivated Junior Cabinet Making Apprentice to join our team on a full-time basis.
This role offers hands-on, on-the-job training, a supportive family-run business environment and a long-term career opportunity for the right person who is genuinely committed to learning the cabinet making trade.
No previous cabinet making experience is required - we are looking for someone with the right attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to building a career in the trade.
About the Role
Full-time junior apprenticeship with on-the-job training
Assisting in the manufacture and installation of custom cabinetry
Working in both the workshop and onsite
Willingness to travel for work, including away jobs (e.g. Rockhampton, Mackay, and surrounding regions)
Learning the protected use of tools, machinery and materials
Working alongside experienced tradesmen
Developing skills across all areas of cabinet making, from manufacturing through to installation
This is a hands-on trade role requiring physical work, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Genuinely interested in cabinet making and the construction industry
Reliable, honest and loyal with a strong work ethic
A team player who can work well with others
Mature, responsible and willing to take direction
Keen to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career
Someone who takes pride in their work and is willing to put in the effort to improve
Requirements:
Reliable transport to and from work is essential
A current driver's licence, or being actively working towards obtaining one, is highly regarded
Willing and able to travel for work, including jobs away from home
Must hold a current White Card (Construction Induction)
Able to follow instructions and work safely
Desirable (but not essential)
Completion of Certificate I in Construction
This is not a requirement; however, completion of this certificate will be highly regarded as it demonstrates genuine interest and commitment to pursuing a career in cabinet making.
