Trainee Dental Assistant

. This is an excellent chance for someone passionate about dentistry and patient care to begin their career in the dental industry. As a Trainee Dental Assistant, you will work alongside experienced dental professionals, gaining practical knowledge and hands-on experience in a supportive clinical environment. This role is fundamental to our practice operations, ensuring smooth patient interactions and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality care.
Key responsibilities
Assisting dentists during clinical procedures and patient treatments
Preparing treatment areas, sterilising instruments, and maintaining infection control standards
Taking dental radiographs (X-rays) under supervision and ensuring proper positioning and technique
Providing chairside support during procedures, including suctioning, passing instruments, and managing patient comfort
Recording patient information and treatment details accurately in clinical records
Greeting patients, managing appointments, and maintaining a welcoming reception environment
Educating patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
Maintaining sterilisation protocols and adhering to infection control procedures
Restocking treatment rooms and ensuring clinical areas are organised and clean
Supporting the dental team in general administration and practice management tasks
What we're looking for
This role is best suited to someone who is new to dental assisting or has up to 1 year of experience. No dental experience is required, as full on the job training will be provided.
We are looking for someone who is based locally or lives near the Doncaster East area,
with reliable transport and the ability to attend work on time.
A genuine passion for dentistry and commitment to providing excellent patient care
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members
Attention to detail and accuracy in clinical and administrative tasks
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical environment
Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude
Manual dexterity and the physical ability to perform clinical duties
Willingness to learn and develop new skills under supervision
Basic computer literacy for appointment and record management systems
