About the role
School Infrastructure is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
The Infrastructure Economics team provides economic analysis and evidence to support investment decisions across the School Infrastructure portfolio. The team undertakes cost-benefit analysis, economic assessments and project support activities that help inform strategic planning, business cases and the delivery of infrastructure projects that meet the needs of growing communities.

Primary purpose of the role
As the Infrastructure Economics Project Officer, you'll undertake economic analysis and provide project support to help deliver school infrastructure projects. You'll work with colleagues and stakeholders to prepare cost-benefit analysis, coordinate project activities and deliver high-quality information that supports planning, reporting and informed decision making.
Key responsibilities
Prepare economic and cost-benefit analysis to support the assessment of school infrastructure projects and initiatives.
Provide project support by preparing reports, briefs and project documentation, coordinating activities and monitoring project plans, milestones and deliverables.
Research, compile and analyse data to identify trends,



evaluate project outcomes and support evidence-based decision making.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating consultations and facilitating the exchange of information to support project objectives.
Contribute to effective project governance by monitoring risks, maintaining project documentation and supporting continuous improvement and best practice project methodologies.
About you
Experience developing cost-benefit analyses and applying economic analysis principles to public infrastructure projects.
Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and prepare clear reports.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
Experience supporting project delivery through coordination, reporting and documentation.
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Economics, Finance or a related field and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
