AJs Total Truck Gear / Kentweld Bullbars is seeking a
Procurement Officer
to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD.
This is a
full-time position
that plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient sourcing, purchasing, and management of materials and services required for our manufacturing operations.
As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for optimising our supply chain, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement practices that support the company's operational excellence and profitability objectives.
What you'll be doing
Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service criteria on range of products from aluminum down to nuts and bolts
Preparing and issuing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures - basic xero knowledge needed
Negotiating contracts and pricing terms with vendors to achieve optimal value for money
Managing inventory levels and coordinating with warehouse and operations teams to ensure adequate stock availability
Monitoring supplier performance against agreed service levels and taking corrective action when necessary
Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
Liaising with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and timelines
Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company procurement policies
What we're looking for
Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management within a manufacturing or logistics environment
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and vendor management best practices
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships




Proficiency with procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and make recommendations based on procurement metrics
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all procurement documentation
Previous experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector is highly desirable
