The Role
This role sits within the Flowbird Australia business unit, specifically supporting our growing hardware and software engineering team in Perth.
As a Workshop Technician, you will be a vital contributor to a major multi-phase upgrade project for Western Australia's public transport solution.
Reporting directly to the Workshop Lead, you will work alongside other technicians and support staff in a respectful, harmonious workshop environment.
Your primary focus is to ensure the reliability of the devices we deploy, making a tangible impact on how our community moves every day.
How to make an impact
● Technical Maintenance: Perform expert fault-finding on electronic and electro- mechanical equipment to ensure peak performance.
● Precision Repairs: Execute component-level repairs on surface mount circuit boards and manage the replacement of module and component assemblies.
● Hardware Integrity: Utilize advanced soldering and de-soldering techniques for surface mount devices while interpreting complex circuit diagrams.
● Digital Documentation: Maintain accurate records using service management software, spreadsheets, and professional correspondence to keep our customers informed.

Follow technical procedures and work instructions diligently to maintain high safety and quality standards within the workshop.
● Autonomy: Manage your own time and prioritize activities effectively to meet project milestones in a fast-paced environment.

Your background
● Certified Expertise: A trade certificate, diploma, or formal certification in electronic principles.
● Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with industrial electronics.
● Technical Proficiency: Proven skill in reading circuit diagrams and performing surface mount repairs.
● Digital Literacy: Competency in using computer systems for logging work and managing documentation.
● Readiness: Physically fit and able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, including functional assessment, drug and alcohol screening, and police clearance.
