About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide field supervision for the delivery of schedules across the aquatic weeds management team.
To deliver these schedules the Aquatic weeds management team utilise an aquatic weed harvester to undertake mechanical removal of aquatic weeds from the Ross River as well as chemical weed control utilising aquatic friendly herbicides in suitable areas along creek banks where the weed harvester cannot reach.
The role will also encompass the management of service quality, technical compliance, worksite safety, budget compliance and communication with relevant stakeholders.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
Ability to lead and communicate with field based or operational staff and providing technical advice and support.
Knowledge of the capabilities and safe operation of a range of light plant and equipment including chainsaw.
Must maintain all necessary licenses, skills and competencies to operate the specified plant and machinery required for the role.
Must hold or have the ability and willingness to obtain licenses and competencies required for the role.
Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management, and/or demonstrated leadership experience in managing on-ground operational crews in the delivery of Conservation, Land Management and Open Space work activities or similar relevant experience.
Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Master up to 24 metres near coastal).




Current Coxswain Grade 2 near coastal commercial operator's licence.
Marine Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency.
Current manual "C" Class Driver's licence.
Agricultural Chemical Distribution Certificate (ACDC) accreditation, or ability to obtain.
First Aid and current CPR Certificate, or ability to obtain.
