With a rapidly expanding footprint across APAC, STACK combines deep development expertise, flexible capital, and operational discipline to deliver critical digital infrastructure at scale.The PositionThe Electrical Systems Specialist – Field Engineering is a hands‐on subject matter expert responsible for the reliability, safety, and performance of mission‐critical electrical infrastructure within a live data centre environment.This role operates at the intersection of operations, engineering and risk, providing deep technical leadership on electrical systems while remaining actively engaged in the field.
The position is accountable for engineering ownership, fault investigation, procedural governance, and uplift of operational capability across site teams.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical System OwnershipAct as technical owner for critical electrical systems including:HV and LV distribution systemsTransformers and switchboardsGenerators and fuel systemsUPS systems and battery infrastructureMaintain deep system knowledge including design intent, protection philosophies, discrimination studies, and recovery strategiesEnsure systems operate within defined engineering, protection coordination, and reliability thresholdsField Engineering & Fault ResponseProvide hands‐on field engineering support during major electrical events and outagesProtection trips and nuisance alarmsComplex fault scenariosCommissioning, recommissioning,
and post‐incident recoveryLead on‐site fault isolation, protection review, and restoration strategySupport live operations during elevated risk activities such as switching, load transfers, and energisationEngineering Governance & ProceduresPeer‐review and approve electrical switching proceduresEOPs, MOPs, and SOPsIsolation and energisation documentationTemporary operating procedures and risk mitigationsEnsure documents align with protection settings, arc flash studies, and discrimination designOwn continuous improvement of procedural quality based on operational feedback and incidentsMust‐have QualificationsTrade, diploma, or degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalentExtensive experience with mission‐critical electrical systems (data centres, utilities, hospitals, industrial facilities, or similar)Solid hands‐on switching and fault‐finding capabilityExperience with protection coordination and discrimination studiesProven experience authoring and reviewing switching proceduresStrong understanding of redundancy philosophies (N, N+1, 2N,
etc.)Desirable QualificationsAuthorised HV switching experienceExperience in live data centre operationsCommissioning and energisation exposureFamiliarity with relay configuration and event analysis softwareExperience contributing to or leading RCAsThis Might Be Right For You IfYou don't get flustered easily.
