Our culture is built on collaboration and innovation, we are passionate about what we do, and we are committed to our mission to be the leading customer-centric data centre services company.Where Cloud lives and AIthrivesJob DescriptionAs a Data Centre Technician, you will support the Hyperscale Facility Management team in the day-to-day operation of the data centre, delivering high-quality electrical and mechanical maintenance whilemaintaininga strong focus on safety, uptime, and customer service.Working within a 24/7 operational environment, you will play a key role in ensuring all critical infrastructure systems aremaintainedto the highest standards and perform reliably.What you will do:Assess and manage risks across OH&S;, security, and critical facility systems, ensuring operationsremainwithin the approved NEXTDC risk profileApply the NEXTDC Risk Management Framework toidentify, analyse, and mitigate risks, feeding insights back to Engineering to improve design and operationsEnsure best-practice installation of customer infrastructure,



including power monitoring, rack security, and environmental controlsMonitor and diagnose system performance via BMS and related platforms, performing fault finding to minimise MTTRSupport continuous improvement of data hall monitoring (temperature, humidity, alarms, power) alongside Facility ManagementFollow all established frameworks, policies, and procedures for safe and compliant facility operationsPromote and support training to ensure compliance with relevant OH&S; legislation and operational standardsMaintain robust working knowledge of critical systems to act as a technical point of referenceAssistwith customer equipment handling, deliveries, and assembly asrequiredProduce operational reports with recommendations to improve performance and reliabilityParticipate in team activities and ongoing professional developmentEngage in regular development discussions aligned with company competency frameworksParticipate in a rotating on-call roster to support 24/7 operationsSupportadditionaltasks as directed by the Facility or Services ManagerWhat will you need:Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectationsClear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts effectivelyStrong planning,



organisational, and problem-solving skillsSolid understanding of data centre operations, including rack management, IT installations, cooling, and power systemsWillingness to buildexpertisein high-density power and advanced cooling technologiesProficient in Microsoft Office, with exposure to BMS and other service platforms desirableWorking knowledge of ITIL principlesQualifications3–5 years' experience in a similar role within a data centre or colocation environment (supporting ~2.5MW+ critical IT load in a Tier III or equivalent facility)Australian Citizenshiprequiredto obtain andmaintainthe necessary security clearance for the roleRecognised trade qualifications and hands-on experience in Electrical or another relevant trade.
