Fiona Rogerson, Perinatal and Trauma Counselling is a well-established private practice providing high-quality, evidence-based counselling to individuals and couples across Western Australia and Australia via telehealth.

About the Role
This permanent part-time position ****** hours per week) involves providing individual counselling, with the opportunity to provide couples counselling, to a caseload focused on birth trauma, perinatal distress, parenting challenges and complex trauma.
Sessions are delivered both in person from our Highgate practice and via telehealth.
This role requires a clinician who is confident working with trauma, has a strong understanding of attachment theory and trauma-informed practice, and demonstrates professionalism, warmth, sound clinical judgement and a high level of self-awareness.
While previous experience working in the perinatal field is highly regarded, we welcome applications from experienced trauma clinicians who have a genuine passion for supporting individuals and families during the perinatal period.
The successful applicant will be committed to developing specialist expertise in perinatal mental health and birth trauma through ongoing learning, supervision and clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
Provide trauma-focused counselling to individual adults, with the opportunity to provide couples counselling.
Apply knowledge of trauma, attachment and perinatal mental health to support clients experiencing presentations including birth trauma, post-traumatic stress, anxiety,
depression, grief and loss, infertility, fertility challenges, relationship difficulties and the transition to parenthood.
Conduct comprehensive intake, risk and needs assessments.
Develop collaborative treatment plans using trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches.
Select and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions appropriate to each client's presenting concerns and treatment goals.
Consider the impact of presenting concerns on children and family functioning where relevant.
Work collaboratively with other treating professionals to support integrated client care.
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with relevant referral sources and external service providers.
Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive client records, case notes and risk management documentation.
Maintain client records and appointment information using Splose practice management software.
Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to regular clinical supervision, reflective practice and career development in accordance with ACA or PACFA requirements.
Participate positively in team discussions, service development and practice initiatives.
Contribute to administrative, marketing or operational activities where requested.
Adhere to all organisational policies, ethical standards and professional obligations.
Act in a manner that reflects and promotes the values and reputation of Fiona Rogerson, Perinatal and Trauma Counselling.
Undertake other duties consistent with the position as directed by the Practice Director.

Essential Criteria
Applications are welcomed from clinicians who have:
Relevant qualifications in Counselling or Psychotherapy.
Current ACA or PACFA membership, with a minimum of ACA Level 2 (or equivalent), and eligibility to provide private health insurance rebates.
Demonstrated experience providing counselling to adults experiencing trauma and complex trauma.
Successful completion of EMDR training through an EMDRAA-approved training provider.
Demonstrated knowledge and application of attachment-informed and trauma-informed practice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A commitment to reflective practice, ongoing professional development and clinical excellence.
Highly Desirable
Knowledge and experience working with perinatal mental health presentations, including birth trauma, infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, and the transition to parenthood.
Understanding of the Australian maternity care system, including pregnancy, birth, postpartum care and maternity-related medical terminology.
Experience providing couples counselling.
Familiarity with somatic and/or parts-based therapeutic approaches.
Evening availability.
