Senior Project and Quality Engineers
for multiple project opportunities across Western Australia.
We are looking for experienced engineering professionals with backgrounds in:
Structural, mechanical and piping construction
Mining and resources projects
Brownfields construction and modifications
Quality assurance and quality control
Mechanical completions and commissioning
Project close-out and handover
These positions offer an immediate start on a
2 weeks on, 1 week off FIFO roster from Perth
, competitive rates and genuine opportunities to progress into senior project delivery, engineering management and quality leadership roles as SMP Engineering continues to grow.
About the Roles
Supporting the safe and efficient delivery of structural, mechanical and piping construction works.
Planning and coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
Developing and maintaining project schedules, work packs, scopes of work and project documentation.
Coordinating labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors and site access requirements.
Reviewing drawings, specifications, vendor documentation and technical requirements.
Providing technical support to construction teams and resolving site-based engineering issues.
Monitoring project progress, productivity, cost, quality and schedule performance.
Working closely with project managers, construction managers, supervisors, clients and subcontractors.
Managing technical queries, requests for information, design changes and site instructions.
Preparing progress reports, forecasts, registers and project status updates.
Supporting commercial processes, including variations, claims, cost tracking and progress measurement.
Coordinating inspections, testing, mechanical completions and commissioning activities.
Supporting punch listing, defect rectification, turnover and project close-out.
Ensuring all works comply with project specifications, drawings, quality requirements and applicable standards.
Maintaining accurate and complete project and quality records.
Promoting a positive,



accountable and safety-focused project culture.
Senior Project Engineers
Senior Project Engineers will ideally have experience across:
Structural, mechanical and piping construction.
Brownfields modifications, shutdowns and tie-in works.
Project planning, forecasting and progress reporting.
Procurement, subcontractor management and materials coordination.
Work pack development and construction readiness.
Technical queries, design reviews and engineering change management.
Cost control, variations and commercial support.
Mechanical completions, commissioning and project close-out.
Coordinating multidisciplinary teams in operational mine-site environments.
Managing client relationships and project stakeholder expectations.
Applicants must be confident managing multiple work fronts and providing practical technical leadership from project planning through to completion and handover.
QA/QC Engineers
QA/QC Engineers will ideally have experience across:
Structural, mechanical, piping and welding quality requirements.
Inspection and Test Plan development and implementation.
Inspection records, test reports and quality verification documentation.
Welding procedures, welder qualifications and weld traceability.
Material identification, certification and traceability.
Non-conformance reporting, corrective actions and close-out.
Quality registers, inspection releases and surveillance activities.
Hydrotesting, pressure testing, flange management and mechanical completions.
Punch listing, turnover documentation and commissioning support.
Manufacturing Data Records and final quality dossiers.
Client quality systems, specifications and reporting requirements.
Coordinating third-party inspectors, NDT providers and client representatives.




Applicants must be capable of working within client quality management systems as part of an integrated project team while ensuring all supporting documentation is accurate, complete and suitable for final handover.
What You Will Need
To be considered, you must have:
Previous experience as a Senior Project Engineer or QA/QC Engineer within the mining, resources or heavy construction sectors.
Relevant experience across structural, mechanical and piping construction.
A tertiary qualification in engineering or a related discipline.
A solid understanding of construction methodologies, project controls and site delivery requirements.
The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, standards and project documentation.
Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Well-developed written communication, reporting and documentation skills.
Strong stakeholder management and client-facing capabilities.
A practical and solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
A current Australian driver's licence.
The ability to complete a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
Availability to work a
2/1 FIFO roster from Perth
.
