Job Summary : We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Analyst to join our team in Kalgoorlie at our head office.
As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial and highly visible role in our TOPlytics project, collaborating closely with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and provide data-driven solutions.
You will work on a variety of data projects, including creating and managing workflows and data models, developing impactful dashboards, and conducting analysis.
Your insights and contributions will directly contribute to improving safety, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving profitability within our drilling operations.
Responsibilities: Adhere to and monitor the daily, weekly, and monthly tasks associated with the position, ensuring compliance with updated requirements.
Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot existing workflows and data models.
Create and maintain dashboards for data analysis and reporting.
Design and implement automation to streamline repetitive tasks.
Train end-users on new reports and dashboards,



collaborating with stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the displayed information and its significance in supporting data-driven decision making.
Educate stakeholders on the meaning and context of the data presented, emphasizing how it can be leveraged to make informed business decisions.
Provide project reporting, including activities, achievements, delays, and updates on a daily, weekly, fortnightly, and monthly basis.
Commission and decommission data sets.
Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
Assess and implement new or upgraded software, contributing to strategic decisions on new systems.
Provide technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
Travel to various client sites throughout WA & NT when required.
Present analysis to users with low technical background.
Conduct Tableau on-boarding for current users.
Conducting Exploratory Data Analysis.
Qualifications and Experience: A tertiary qualification in Economics, Commerce, Engineering, Data Science, and/or Computer Science, or currently studying in these fields.
1-3 years of experience in a similar data analyst role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Tableau and SQL is essential.
Undrestand Data modeling.
Python or R is good to know, but not essential.
dbt knowledge is a significant advantage.
Understand EDA.
Prior experience with SQL.
Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.




Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
Personal Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey insights through data.
A strong understanding of digital and data trends, with a passion for leveraging new technology to solve business problems.
Commercial mindset with a focus on operational efficiency.
Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to maintain confidentiality.
Enthusiastic and proactive approach to work, displaying a desire to learn and a commitment to task completion.
High-level written and verbal communication skills.
