About Alice Springs Hospital
Alice Springs Hospital (ASH) is Central Australia's primary acute care service with a catchment area of approximately 50,000 residents across Alice Springs and up to 50 remote community locations.
It is a 209 bed faciality and specialises in general and emergency medicine, surgical, maternity and paediatric services with a 10-bed intensive care unit and renal dialysis centre
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join us in the acute Occupational Therapy team at Alice Springs Hospital.

The Occupational Therapy department is a small yet dedicated team that values its high quality service and collaboration to help achieve positive outcomes for their patients.
This unique environment brings an opportunity to upskill in a supportive setting, work autonomously and work on problem solving and communication skills; skills that can be developed and improved at any level.
You will work in a remote setting that will contribute to the continuum of patient care by providing a high quality, comprehensive and culturally appropriate occupational therapy services to in an acute inpatient setting.




You will provide high quality and evidence based Occupational Therapy expertise as part of the Occupational Therapy team.
You will be provided support with regular clinical supervision and have the opportunity to be involved in continuous quality improvement projects and supervising junior staff and students.
You will possess relevant qualifications in Occupational Therapy that meets membership eligibility requirements of registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
You will have acute care or relevant clinical experience, demonstrated awareness of multicultural issues and their impact on clinical practice, strong leadership skills, and an ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.

About you
Relevant qualifications in OT that meets membership eligibility requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and registration for practice with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
Extensive post graduate experience in providing contemporary, high level clinical OT services to patients and families/carers in the field of hand therapy, relevant to such setting.
Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven experience in working effectively with patients and families/carers of diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Proven high level communication and interpersonal skills, including well developed negotiation and conflict management skills, with significant experience working in a team environment to achieve positive health outcomes.
Extensive experience in clinical supervision of students and staff and a commitment to professional development.
Proven ability to initiate,



implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities.
Proven ability to efficiently and effectively organise and manage a high-volume complex workload.
Demonstrated high level leadership skills with capacity to provide leadership in a team setting.
