The chance
We need someone to recruit and nurture a new group of Foster Carers to care for vulnerable children, so they can grow up in stable, secure and loving homes.

Riverina Medical & Dental Aboriginal Corporation
(based in Wagga Wagga, regional NSW) to deliver these services and to ensure the best culturally appropriate outcomes for Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
This position is an identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander position.
The Role
The Carer Support Caseworker will work closely with other members of the Permanency Support Program (PSP) OOHC team to recruit and retain high quality placements for the children and young people in the care of RivMed in line with the NSW Aboriginal Child & Young Person Placement Principles.
The Carer Support Caseworker will provide carers with the required training and support to ensure they have all the necessary skills and support to undertake their role as a carer.
The successful candidate will need to be available to work outside of office hours from time-to-time.

About You
Aboriginality - This is an identified Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander position and candidates will be required to provide confirmation of Aboriginality.
(NB: applicants race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act ****, NSW)
Minimum of a Diploma of Community Services or related qualifications or otherwise enrolled and complete within 12 months of employment.
Minimum of two (2) years experience in case work with families, children and young people.
Relevant experience working with children and young people
A knowledge of and commitment to Permanency Planning principles in the permanency support program.
A knowledge of and commitment to 'Reportable Conduct Scheme' under NSW Office of the Children's Guardian.
Demonstrated understanding of the developmental needs of children and young people

Employment conditions
