Cyprium Metals Limited is an Australian copper company focused on the redevelopment of the Nifty Copper Complex in Western Australia.
Nifty is a brownfield copper asset with substantial existing infrastructure and a long operating history.
Cyprium is progressing a staged restart at Nifty and is building the team and capability needed to support safe and effective operations.
Role Overview
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership and engineering support for electrical systems across the Nifty Copper Complex to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant, power and associated site infrastructure.
The role supports both restart readiness and ongoing operations by helping ensure electrical assets are maintained, faults are resolved effectively, and electrical standards, systems and work practices support stable production.
The role works closely with operations, maintenance and contractors to improve electrical reliability, support shutdown and maintenance activities, and deliver practical technical solutions across site.
This role is offered on an 8/6 roster.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems and Reliability
Maintain statutory accountability for site including working as the Electrical Supervisor overseeing contractor designs and installations to comply with Australian Standards, maintain the electrical log-book
Be the nominated Electrician for the site (NOI)
Provide technical support for electrical systems across plant, power station and site infrastructure
Monitor electrical equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and availability
Maintenance and Shutdown Support




Support the planning and execution of electrical maintenance activities across site assets
Provide engineering input to maintenance plans, shutdown scopes and job execution requirements
Support startup, shutdown and recommissioning activities from an electrical systems perspective
Standards, Compliance and Safety
Ensure electrical systems and work practices support protected operation and comply with site requirements, relevant standards and statutory obligations
Support the development, review and application of electrical procedures, standards and technical documentation
Projects and Improvement
Support electrical upgrades, modifications and improvement initiatives across site
Provide technical input into capital works, replacement projects and operational improvement activities
Review electrical design changes and ensure they are practical, compliant and fit for purpose
Contractor and Site Coordination
Work closely with electrical contractors, maintenance personnel and site leadership to coordinate electrical activities
Provide technical guidance and support to contractor and site teams undertaking electrical work
Ensure electrical engineering issues, risks and changes are communicated clearly to relevant stakeholders




Support effective coordination between electrical work, plant operations and broader site priorities
Reporting and Technical Discipline
Maintain accurate electrical records, technical information and engineering documentation as the designated Electrical Supervisor
Support electrical performance reporting, incident reviews and corrective action follow-through
Identify recurring electrical issues, performance trends and improvement priorities
Key Outcomes
Safe and reliable operation of electrical systems across plant, power and site infrastructure
Improved electrical asset reliability and reduced downtime from electrical failures
Effective technical support for maintenance, shutdowns and operational readiness
Strong compliance with electrical standards, procedures and safety requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Demonstrated experience in a site-based electrical engineering role within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry
Experience supporting fixed plant, power generation, processing or similar heavy industrial electrical systems
Strong understanding of electrical maintenance, fault finding, system reliability and shutdown support
Experience working with HV and LV electrical systems in an operational environment
Skills & Attributes
Strong technical understanding of site electrical systems and equipment
Practical problem-solving capability and disciplined engineering judgement
Ability to analyse equipment issues and identify effective improvement actions
Strong commitment to safety, compliance and engineering discipline
