The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Site HSE Advisor to support Warrikal's operational teams across shutdown and maintenance projects.
Reporting to the Manager HSE, you will play a key role in driving health, safety and environmental performance by providing practical support, coaching and guidance to frontline teams and operational leaders.
Working closely with Superintendents, Area Managers, Corporate HSE personnel and client representatives, you will help ensure compliance with legislative, client and Warrikal requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture.
As a Site HSE Advisor, you will be a visible safety leader supporting frontline personnel and operational leaders to achieve safe and effective project delivery.
You will play a key role in risk management, coaching teams, supporting investigations and driving continuous improvement across site operations.
Previous experience within shutdown maintenance environments in the mining or resources sector is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide site-based HSE support and guidance across shutdown and maintenance projects.




Promote a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, coaching and engagement with operational teams.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, field observations, critical risk control verifications and risk assessments to identify and manage hazards.
Review and provide guidance on JHAs, SWMS and task-based risk assessments to ensure appropriate controls are implemented.
Monitor compliance with legislative, client and Warrikal HSE requirements.
Support incident investigations, identify root causes and assist with implementing corrective actions.
Deliver toolbox talks, safety communications and HSE awareness initiatives.
Track, monitor and report on HSE performance, corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities.
Build strong relationships with operational leaders, contractors and client stakeholders to drive positive safety outcomes.
About You
Eligible to work in Australia.
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar HSE Advisor role.
Demonstrated experience supporting shutdown maintenance activities within the mining, resources or heavy industrial sectors.
Experience with critical risk management and critical control verification processes.
Experience reviewing JHAs, SWMS and task risk assessments in high-risk work environments.




Incident investigation training or demonstrated experience participating in workplace incident investigations.
Ability to work FIFO shutdown rosters, including day and night shifts.
Ability to meet client medical, drug and alcohol testing, induction and mobilisation requirements.
Confidence working in a fast-paced shutdown environment with changing priorities and competing demands.
Current C Class Driver's Licence.
Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and incident investigation processes.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across multiple business units.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
