The participant requiring support lives with multiple complex medical and psychosocial conditions, including mental health diagnoses and physical mobility impairments.
They use a wheelchair, require full assistance with daily activities, and benefit from consistent, structured, and proactive support.
Support Schedule Requirements
Weekly Support Needs:
Monday to Friday:
8:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday:
4 hours (adaptable timing)
Additional weekly evenings:
Tuesday:
5:00pm – 9:30pm
Fortnightly Monday & Thursday:
5:00pm – 9:30pm
Support workers must be reliable and committed to maintaining routine.
Key Responsibilities Daily Living & Personal Support
Provide full physical assistance with daily activities, grooming, and mobility.
Assist with transfers and wheelchair handling (must be able to lift/secure wheelchair into car).
Community Access
Support the participant to engage in shopping trips, social outings, and community activities.




Workers must have access to a vehicle on designated community days (e.g., Tuesdays and Thursdays).
Therapy Support
Assist with transport to and from therapy appointments (physio, hydrotherapy, podiatry).
Encourage and celebrate functional improvements (e.g., increased standing tolerance).
Preferred Worker Attributes
Female staff preferred due to rapport and participant comfort.
Warm, bubbly, proactive personality – not passive or reserved.
Experience with psychosocial disabilities, behavior support, and complex care.
Ability to manage emotional situations professionally and empathetically.
Comfortable with manual handling, vehicle transfers, and supporting mobility.
Must not be allergic to cats.
