We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Behaviour Change Facilitator to join our Connect and Respect Men's Behaviour Change Program.In this role you will be part of a passionate and dedicated team delivering a specifically designed program to men who choose to use violence and abuse in their relationships with their partner(s) or family members.
The program is delivered in a secure and supportive therapeutic setting and provides educational group work, informal counselling, individual case management and advocacy.ResponsibilitiesFacilitation of group work for men who choose to use violence in intimate relationships and provide support to work towards positive changeContributing to risk assessments, safety planning, case management, case note and report writingConducting specialised intake assessments of potential clientsEstablishing and maintaining effective working relationshipsRespond to crisis and emotional distress of clientsThis is a permanent full-time position working 76 hours a fortnight.
This role is located in Geraldton, and will work within the prison setting.
Due to the nature of the position and industry, there is a requirement to work outside normal business hours.About YouYou are passionate about keeping women and children secure from family domestic violence, coupled with a desire to help men change their behaviours by being educated on FDV.
Additional to this, you will have:Tertiary qualification in a human services field,



and/or significant experience in a similar fieldAbility to respond to challenging behaviours and have an understanding of the origins of these behaviours when working with clientsCultural competency to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and people with disabilitiesAdvanced communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.Unrestricted driver's licence, Police clearance, Working With Children Check, and Department of Justice integrity clearanceWhat this role can offer youGenerous NFP Salary Packaging: Option to package up to $15,900 for general living expenses and an additional $2,650 for entertainment benefits per annum.Wellbeing Leave: 5 days of extra paid leave per annum (pro rata for part-time).
