Rising Sun Pictures has been delivering visual effects for high-profile live-action feature films and episodic television for over 30 years.As a Junior System Administrator, you support the people and technology that allow us to deliver visual effects for projects such as Elvis, Thor: Love and Thunder, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantamania, Cocaine Bear, The Flash, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Position OverviewWe are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Junior System Administrator to join our team in Adelaide.
No task is too big or too small, you'll be extremely hands-on and pay close attention to detail, supporting the team in any way necessary, assisting with office and facility tasks as required.Along with a passion for technology, you have positive and friendly attitude, excellent teamwork, communication and time management skills and a strong commitment to safety and security.You are a systems administrator in training who will work on continual improvement initiatives that empower our onsite and remote staff to deliver world class visual effects, across all our locations, with minimal interruption.Visual effects experience is desirable, but not necessary.
Responsibilities
Desktop administration and supportTechnical support local and for remote usersUser account managementSystem installation and maintenanceLocal network support including patchingOptimising remote desktop performance to workstations in our data centreMonitor and respond to security issues (both physical and technical)Assist with inventory management,
procurement and licensing as requiredProactively assist with facility management and maintenanceCreate and continue ongoing upkeep of documentation including policies and proceduresParticipate in initiatives across the entire IT infrastructure while maximising performance and service deliveryYou are constantly looking to improve processes and systemsBe available for critical server outages and on-call roster (with the potential of weekend work)
Required Skills and Experience
Experience IT Administration, HelpDesk, System Administration or equivalent experienceDesktop support, troubleshooting IT issues and complex problem solvingBasic Networking (WiFi and LAN)Linux and Windows systems administrationWriting documentation and improving processes
Technical competencies in some of the following are beneficial, but not required:
Remote desktop using Z Central (HP RGS) or TeradiciAlso desirable: specific skills in CentOS/Redhat and MacOSExperience with contemporary configuration management and deployment systems (Salt, Fog)Virtualisation (KVM, oVirt, VMware beneficial)Scripting (ideally Python, Bash, PowerShell beneficial)Monitoring systems (Check_MK, Grafana, Graylog, Zabbix beneficial)Cloud technologies (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure etc)User management (LDAP)Microsoft Ecosystem (Office365, SharePoint Online, Azure, AD, Exchange, Group Policy)MPAA/TPN content securityDevOps experience is a bonusAzure platform experienceMaintaining a secure environment
