As our Domestic & Family Violence Support Worker , you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families impacted by domestic and family violence. Working within a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework, you will provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, case management, advocacy and referrals to help clients improve their safety, wellbeing and independence.
Working closely with the DFV Team Lead and partner agencies, you will deliver client-centred support while contributing to a coordinated community response to domestic and family violence. Key Responsibilities Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, advocacy and emotional support to victim-survivors.
Undertake risk assessments and develop personalised safety plans. Deliver case management and coordinate referrals to housing, legal, financial, health and community services. Support clients through the Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO) process, including court support where appropriate.
Work collaboratively with Queensland Police, courts, Legal Aid, Child Safety and other community agencies. Maintain accurate case notes, client records and reports in line with organisational and funding requirements. Participate in case reviews, team meetings,



supervision and professional development.
Contribute to a secure, respectful and culturally responsive service that empowers clients and promotes positive outcomes. About You You are a compassionate and resilient professional who is committed to supporting people experiencing domestic and family violence.
You have excellent communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to build trusting relationships while working effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will bring: Experience in domestic and family violence, community services or a related field.
Knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based practice. Experience in crisis intervention, risk assessment and case management. Strong advocacy, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
