The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 recent early learning centres.

About the Division

The Department of Education's Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Services Branch is seeking a skilled and dedicated OHS Services Officer to join the North Western Victoria Region (NWVR).

About the Role

This is a Full-time, fixed-term position until 31 July 2028, based in Coburg. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an OHS professional looking to expand their experience supporting Victorian government schools while working as part of a collaborative regional team.

In this hands-on role, you will provide high-quality advice and deliver essential OHS and emergency management services to principals, school leaders and employees.

Join our dynamic team and contribute to improving the safety of Victorian government schools while being supported by a vibrant culture of development and connection.

Key responsibilities include:

- Working collaboratively as part of a regionally based team to deliver consistent, hands-on OHS and emergency management services and support to schools, helping achieve safer school environments.
- Partnering with schools to complete OHS and emergency management planning tasks, offering expert guidance, including on the effective use of digital systems.
- Providing exceptional service delivery and building strong relationships with schools, regional offices, contracted external providers and key members of the Division.
- Championing best practices and driving continuous improvement in OHS and emergency management processes.

This role reports to the Manager, OHS Services, North Western Victoria Region (NWVR) and receives guidance and mentoring from Senior OHS Services Officers. The role works closely with school principals and leaders and requires regular travel throughout the region to undertake school visits.
