- Base salary: Level B, $122,876 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The School of Social Sciences offers a rich learning and research environment spanning social and environmental studies. As well as undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the School supports an active research program. The Lecturer in Indonesian will undertake teaching and unit coordination in collaboration with colleagues and under the direction of the Head of School of Social Sciences. Indonesian is a small but important course offered at UWA for undergraduate students.

The successful applicant will be required to work with local high school teachers and community interest groups to promote Indonesian language and cultural learning at UWA and within the broader community.

The applicant must be motivated to contribute to the academic environment of the School and have a strong teaching portfolio relative to opportunity within Indonesian studies, as well as the ability to contribute to the broader community engagement program in the School.

About the opportunity

- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Indonesian Studies curriculum, designing engaging, inclusive and evidence-based assessment practices that support student success and enrich the learning experience.
- Design and deliver high-quality, innovative teaching in Indonesian language and culture,



fostering student engagement and language proficiency while maintaining academic standards and ensuring the effective administration of teaching activities.
- Contribute actively to the governance, collegial culture and strategic priorities of the School and University, while building relationships with qualified, industry and community partners to enhance the profile and impact of Indonesian Studies.

About you

- A PhD or substantive progress towards a PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to their discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices to extend equality of opportunity for all learners.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles.
- Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to team, School and wider University activities such as team and School meetings, strategic planning and program development.
