About Our Client

Our client is a highly regarded public sector organisation with a strong focus on innovation, service delivery and operational excellence. With a collaborative finance team and a large, complex operating environment, they are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to provide high-quality financial support and reporting across a key business portfolio.

Job Description

- Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments.
- Manage monthly financial close activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly management reports and provide meaningful financial analysis to stakeholders.
- Analyse actual results against budgets and forecasts, identifying key variances and trends.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning processes.
- Prepare financial commentary and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Perform balance sheet and subsidiary ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Assist with year-end reporting, audits and annual reporting requirements.




- Partner with operational stakeholders and provide advice on financial management, compliance and reporting matters.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancement projects.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Management Accountant should have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional membership or progress towards CPA or CA qualifications.
- Proven capability in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Strong month-end accounting experience, including journals and reconciliations.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle or Navision, highly desirable.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work with complex financial data.
- Experience within a large, complex organisation will be highly regarded.
