Job Description
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will take ownership of the organisation's financial control and reporting framework while providing operational leadership across finance and procurement activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading month-end reporting, management accounts and financial analysis.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial modelling activities.
- Maintaining strong financial controls, reconciliations and general ledger integrity.
- Overseeing payroll, accounts payable and day-to-day finance operations.
- Managing audit processes, statutory compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Partnering with executive stakeholders to provide financial insights and accountability around expenditure.
- Supporting the implementation of a new ERP system and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
- Leading and developing finance team members while helping build capability within the function.
- Presenting financial information to governance and audit committees and supporting organisational decision-making
The Successful Applicant
You will be a CA/CPA-qualified finance leader with demonstrated Financial Controller or senior finance experience across reporting, budgeting, compliance and operational finance. Experience within a statutory body, public sector or similarly regulated environment will be highly regarded.
In addition, you will bring:
- Strong knowledge of financial governance, audit and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing month-end processes, controls and reporting obligations.
- The ability to communicate complex financial matters to non-finance audiences.
- A hands-on and adaptable approach, comfortable operating in evolving environments.
- Proven people leadership capability and a collaborative stakeholder management style.
- Alignment with the organisation's values and mission-driven purpose
