Position: Retail Manager
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
Location: Girraween NSW 2145
Our client is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of their supermarket in Girraween, New South Wales.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manag the daily operations of the retail store to ensure productive and profitable business performance.
- Supervise, train and motivate staff to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Monitor sales performance, prepared reports, and implemented strategies to improve revenue and profitability.
- Manage inventory levels, stock ordering, stock control, and merchandising to ensure product availability.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and returns professionally while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Prepare staff rosters, allocate duties, and monitor employee performance.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies, company procedures, and retail regulations.
- Manage cash handling, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, banking, and end-of-day reconciliation.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, store presentation, and cleanliness.
- Coordinate promotional activities and marketing campaigns to increase sales and customer engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and team members.
- Monitor budgets, controlled operational expenses, and implemented cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements:
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in relevant field
- At least 12 months of prior experience as a Retail Manager
- Experience working with Indian grocery products, spices, fresh produce, and specialty food items will be highly regarded
- Proficiency in Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati, or other Indian languages will be highly regarded
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound knowledge of inventory control and merchandising practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and workplace health and safety requirements.
