Cooktown Multipurpose Health Service is seeking an experienced Clinical Midwife to join its Midwifery Group Practice on a contract basis from August to November 2026. This 11-week role offers the chance to deliver continuity-of-care midwifery in a regional Queensland setting, with a salary of AUD72.50 to AUD81.50 per hour on an annualised classification. You'll work alongside a dedicated team committed to supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood in the Cooktown community.

- Lead continuity-of-care midwifery within a Midwifery Group Practice model
- AUD72.50 to AUD81.50 per hour, annualised salary classification
- 11-week contract with scope to contribute to portfolio and audit management as a senior clinician

Preferred Requirements





- Minimum three years' experience working in a Midwifery Group Practice setting
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Fetal Surveillance Education Program (FSEP) and demonstrated competency in cardiotocography (CTG)
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation and Advanced MEP (or equivalent) qualifications
- Recent hands-on birthing experience and readiness to participate in portfolio and audit responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

- Current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA
- Epidural competency (highly desirable)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and engagement with clinical governance frameworks
