$80,000 - $85,000 (salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Detecting and diagnosing faults in engine and parts
*Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
*Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
*Inspecting and certifying vehicles for road-worthiness
*Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
*Repairing and replacing worn out and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
*Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as: oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
*Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired

Qualifications and Experience:

*Relevant AQF Cert III including 2 years of on-the-job experience or Cert IV
*A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience may replace the requirement of having a qualification.
*Applicants with qualifications must demonstrate 1 year of relevant experience.
