We're looking for an experienced procurement skilled to join a small team to support end-to-end procurement activities, improve procurement practices, and help shape the future of procurement across a diverse organisation for approximately 3-6 months. This can be either working a .08 or full time.

You'll play a key role in delivering value-for-money outcomes while supporting governance, contract management, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement.

This role combines hands-on procurement delivery with strategic improvement initiatives, making it ideal for someone who enjoys balancing operational excellence with process improvement.

Key responsibilities

- Lead medium-complexity end-to-end procurement projects across capital works and professional services.
- Develop procurement strategies, market approaches, evaluation methodologies, and tender documentation.
- Manage procurement processes from planning through to contract award.
- Provide expert procurement advice to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance requirements, and legislative obligations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Provide procurement guidance and quality assurance across the organisation.
- Support business units with procurement planning and scheduling.
- Review procurement documentation to ensure consistency and best practice.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Promote sustainable procurement principles and sound commercial decision-making.
- Contribute to procurement improvement initiatives,



including contract management, templates, reporting, and procurement systems.
- Develop practical tools, guides, and resources that improve procurement capability.
- Support implementation of procurement and contract management frameworks.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, commercial outcomes, and organisational value.
- Ensure procurement activities meet policy, legislative, and audit requirements.
- Maintain high standards of probity, transparency, and accountability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and organisational change initiatives.

About you

- Have experience working in Local Government - Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commerce, or a related discipline (CIPS or equivalent highly regarded).
- Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end procurement in a complex organisation.
- Experience across categories such as capital works, engineering, infrastructure, facilities, property, operations, or professional services.
- Strong knowledge of procurement governance, contract management, and legislative compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience developing procurement documentation, evaluation reports, and commercial recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and procurement capability uplift.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and procurement or ERP systems.
