We're seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join a high-performing communications team supporting a large Queensland Government organisation. This is an opportunity to produce creative, engaging content that informs and connects with communities across North Queensland.
Based in Cairns or Townsville , you'll work across a broad range of print and digital channels, creating high-quality visual communications while collaborating with internal stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging creative assets across print, digital and video platforms
- Produce publications, brochures, newsletters, presentations, social media content, advertisements, displays and other communication materials
- Provide expert design advice, ensuring all work aligns with corporate branding and accessibility standards
- Translate complex information into clear, visually engaging communication products
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes
- Liaise with external suppliers including printers, photographers, videographers and other creative partners
- Contribute to continuous improvement and collaborate with other design teams across the department
Ideally you will have the following
- Strong experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) and Microsoft Office
- Experience producing high-quality creative work within a corporate or government environment
- Knowledge of branding, style guides and accessible document design (WCAG)
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with exceptional attention to detail
Highly regarded
- Five or more years' experience in graphic, digital or visual design
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Previous Queensland Government experience

This is an office-based role, with adaptable working arrangements available following an initial probation period.
