We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Practice Manager - Growth & Performance to lead our Melbourne clinic. This is an exciting opportunity for a healthcare leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, driving business growth and delivering operational excellence in a specialist healthcare environment.
This is a 12-month full-time contract with a strong view to permanency.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager Victoria, you will lead the overall commercial and operational performance of the clinic, treating the business as your own.
You will be responsible for improving clinic performance through strong leadership, data-driven decision making and a relentless focus on patient experience, operational efficiency and sustainable growth.
This is much more than a traditional Practice Manager role-it is an opportunity to influence business performance while supporting a highly respected team of ophthalmologists and clinical professionals.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of a busy specialist clinic
- Drive revenue growth, profitability and clinic utilisation
- Improve enquiry management, patient conversion and the end-to-end patient journey
- Build and strengthen relationships with referring practitioners
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ensure exceptional patient experiences and service quality
- Maintain compliance with accreditation, quality and safety standards
- Partner with corporate support teams to deliver strategic growth initiatives.
About You
To be successful you will bring:
- Demonstrated leadership experience within healthcare, specialist practice or a service-based workplace
- Proven success improving operational and commercial performance
- Experience leading business growth or transformation initiatives
- Adept in monitoring and interpreting financial & operational metrics.
- Outstanding leadership, coaching and people management skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for continuous improvement
An Orthoptist or Optometry background will be highly regarded, as will previous experience in ophthalmology or specialist consulting environments. Experience working with referral networks is also desirable.
