Permanent Full-Time Position | Quality Produce International (QPI) – Perth Markets

(Monday–Friday, approximately 6:00 am – 2:00 pm)

Quality Produce International (QPI) is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Food Quality and Safety Specialist to join our dynamic team at the Perth Markets in a permanent full time position.

Working alongside our experienced market-based sales team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety and integrity of fresh produce supplied to many of Australia's leading retailers. Every day presents a different challenge, with changing products, seasons and customer expectations.

About the Role

Your day starts before sunrise when the market is at its busiest. Reporting to the Head of Technical & Compliance, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, integrity and safety of fresh produce supplied to Australia's leading retailers.

This is a hands-on role that combines technical assessment with practical risk management and offers genuine opportunities for professional development and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct incoming and outgoing product quality assessments.
- Evaluate fresh produce against customer specifications and quality standards.
- Identify quality, food safety and operational risks before they become problems.
- Assist with SQF,



HARPS and customer compliance requirements.
- Support workplace health and safety initiatives and risk assessments.
- Participate in investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inspection and technical records.
- Support continuous improvement projects across quality, safety and operational systems.

About You

You are someone who:

- Has a naturally analytical and risk assessment mindset.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced operational workplace.
- Has experience in food quality, food safety, agriculture or fresh produce (preferred).
- Has knowledge of HACCP and food safety principles.
- Has an understanding of Workplace Health & Safety and risk management.
- Is confident making decisions and communicating with a range of stakeholders.
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Can work independently while thriving as part of a team.
- Is comfortable commencing work before sunrise.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

- Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, WHS or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of SQF, Freshcare, HARPS, HACCP or similar food safety standards.
- Experience in fresh produce, warehousing or food manufacturing.
