About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Group Safeguarding Lead to drive the continued development and implementation of our Child Safeguarding Framework, helping to embed a strong, visible and sustainable culture of safeguarding across our schools, programs and support functions.

This is a unique opportunity to influence safeguarding practice at an enterprise level while making a genuine difference to the safety, wellbeing and participation of children and young people.

Reporting to the Group Quality & Compliance Manager, you will be the organisation's subject matter expert for safeguarding across Australia and New Zealand, providing strategic advice and practical implementation support across governance, risk management, training, policy development, assurance activities and continuous improvement.

You will work collaboratively with leaders across schools, education programs and corporate functions to strengthen safeguarding capability, improve compliance and ensure child safe practices are embedded into everyday operations.

Key Responsibilities

Safeguarding Governance & Frameworks

- Lead the ongoing development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Group Child Safeguarding Framework.
- Develop and maintain safeguarding policies, procedures, standards, guidance materials and reporting tools.
- Monitor legislative changes and support implementation of Child Safe Standards and safeguarding obligations.
- Coordinate safeguarding audits, self‑assessments, reviews and assurance activities.
- Support reportable conduct, statutory notification and regulator liaison processes.

Training & Capability

- Design and deliver safeguarding induction,



refresher and role‑specific training.
- Develop practical resources, templates and guidance materials.
- Partner with leaders to embed safeguarding into onboarding, supervision and operational practices.
- Champion child safe culture initiatives across the organisation.
- Support leaders to identify, assess and manage safeguarding risks.
- Provide advice on safeguarding concerns, incidents, disclosures and complaints.
- Analyse safeguarding data, trends and findings to inform decision‑making and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and drive a Group Child Safety Roadmap.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You are a safeguarding, child protection,



compliance or risk professional who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands‑on approach.

To be successful, you will have:

- Safeguarding experience across child protection, compliance, education, risk or related fields.
- Strong regulatory knowledge of Child Safe Standards, safeguarding frameworks and governance requirements across Australian jurisdictions.
- Legislation interpretation with the ability to convert requirements into workable operational solutions.
- Policy and assurance capability including policy development, training design, audits and assurance activities.
- Stakeholder engagement with exceptional influencing skills.
- Child‑centred practice grounded in trauma‑informed, culturally safe and inclusive approaches.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Law, Human Services, Risk, Compliance or similar.
- Mandatory checks including a Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
- Driver licence and willingness to travel as required.
