Procurement Officer
Reporting to: Procurement Assistant Manager
Employment Type: Permanent, full-time
Work Location: South Wharf, Melbourne
The Procurement Officer is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract administration to deliver commercial value, optimise costs, and improve supply chain performance across the Oceania business. The role works closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to deliver procurement activities efficiently and compliantly, aligning with the Group's procurement strategy and governance standards.
Responsibilities
- Managing strategic sourcing activities, including RFIs, RFPs and RFQs, to secure cost-effective and high-quality supplier solutions.
- Supporting supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, performance reviews, and contract lifecycle administration.
- Preparing and maintaining procurement documentation, contracts, reports, KPIs, and analysis to support business and compliance requirements.
- Identifying and implementing cost optimisation and supply chain improvement initiatives to enhance operational and commercial performance.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, governance standards, and quality management procedures.
Qualifications
- A qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years' experience managing procurement activities.
- Proven experience in supplier relationship management, contract administration, and strategic sourcing, ideally within the shipping, transport, logistics, or port industry.
- Solid analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
