Join a specialist multi-disciplinary PIMHS team providing assessment, consultation and therapeutic intervention for infants, parents, and families. This role offers a supportive team environment with opportunities for clinical supervision, ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Please note this position is also being advertised as a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Lead Practitioner d) and only one position will be filled on merit.

The Team

The role sits within the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS). PIMHS South is a community-based specialist/tertiary perinatal mental health service for women affected by, or at risk of significant mental health challenges related to pregnancy and the postnatal period (up to 12 months following birth). The multidisciplinary team offers assessment or secondary consultation, treatment or advice to consumers and the stakeholders engaged in their care.

Responsibilities

- Act as a role model and deliver comprehensive, developmentally appropriate, and trauma‑informed biopsychosocial mental health assessments and therapies, and a range of evidence-based psychological, creative and other therapies.
- Provide direct clinical leadership within a designated program area, region and/or statewide stream.




- Provide direct clinical care for women affected by, or at risk of significant mental health challenges related to pregnancy and the postnatal period (up to 12 months following birth).

Qualifications & Requirements

- Demonstrated knowledge, skill and expertise in providing clinical services within a Perinatal and Infant Mental health setting, including assessment and intervention with infants, parents and caregivers, and the parent‑infant relationship. Ability to provide high‑level clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and to work under minimal supervision.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant, evidence‑based approaches to perinatal and infant mental health, including attachment theory, infant development, parent‑infant relationship assessment and dyadic interventions, together with experience working as a senior health professional in relevant clinical practice settings.
- Demonstrated experience delivering trauma‑informed, attachment‑informed and relationship‑focused care to infants, parents, caregivers and families experiencing perinatal and infant mental health difficulties, ensuring positive outcomes for infant development, parental wellbeing, and family functioning.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across service systems, including maternity, neonatal, child health, mental health and community services,



to support early identification, assessment and intervention for perinatal and infant mental health concerns.
- Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification / programme of study and registration with the relevant National Board, or full membership / eligibility with the relevant professional association for self‑regulated allied health professions.
- Current Working with Children Registration.

Desirable Criteria

- Current Driver’s Licence.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience relevant to the role.

Appointment Details

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 May 2027. Hours subject to negotiation.

Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

For a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

$131,122 to $138,984 per annum. Additional 12% superannuation contribution.

- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025.
- Access to salaries beyond $135,445 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
- Career development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.
