Responsibilities
- Teach mathematics and science to secondary students.
- Develop and deliver curriculum aligned with state standards.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback.
- Contribute to pastoral care and homeroom responsibilities.
- Participate in school activities, including compulsory camp programs and outdoor education camps.
- Support school‑wide initiatives and events.
- Maintain a child‑safe setting and comply with Child Safe Standards.
- Participate in professional development and training, particularly in child safety and digital technology integration.
Qualifications and Key Selection Criteria
- Active Christian faith and willingness to uphold the ethos of the Lutheran Church of Australia.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents, and other staff.
- Ability to select and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies to suit the needs of a diverse range of students.
- Commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities as a member of the College team.
- Capacity and ability to contribute to our camp program and possess adequate fitness to participate in a range of outdoor education camps.
- Capacity to establish and develop positive and constructive relationships with students, staff, parents, and members of the wider community.
- Ability and desire to contribute to the Pastoral Care program of the College and serve as a homeroom/pastoral care teacher.
- Capacity to reflect critically upon their professional practice.
- Capacity for best practice in curriculum development and implementation, evaluation and assessment, and management of teaching and learning activities.
- Ability to apply digital technologies to the teaching and learning process as well as collecting, organising, and processing relevant data.
- Ability and willingness to teach outside of Mathematics and Science in the Secondary school will be of great advantage.
Child Safety
- Be aware of, understand, and comply with the principles of the Child Safe Standards at all times.
- Ensure adherence to the College’s Child Safety Code of Conduct and Policies.
- Undertake regular training and professional development in Child Safety and Child Protection during induction and on an ongoing basis.
- Respond in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures when interacting with children.
- Provide a safe environment for all children, promoting physical, emotional, and cultural safety.
