The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) provides strategic leadership and oversight of the University's research enterprise, including research policy, postgraduate education, research quality and impact, research infrastructure, industry engagement, intellectual property and commercialisation. The portfolio supports world-class research that delivers meaningful impact locally, nationally and internationally.

- Lead and shape the international research agenda of one of Australia's leading research-intensive universities, advancing research excellence, collaboration and impact across priority international markets, with a strategic focus on the Indo-Pacific region.
- Drive high-impact global partnerships, international research funding growth and the translation of research into societal, economic and industry outcomes, enhancing UWA's global research reputation and influence.
About you
- A doctoral qualification and an outstanding academic track record, with significant experience in senior research leadership roles within a university environment.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing international research strategies, research partnerships and transnational research initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of research governance, research integrity, ethics, compliance frameworks and risk management associated with international research collaborations.
- Proven ability to build influential relationships and engage effectively with universities, industry, government, funding agencies and international stakeholders across diverse cultural contexts.
- A track record of securing or enabling competitive research funding, supporting multidisciplinary research programs, and using research performance insights to drive strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
