Join Our Parks & Streetscape Team This Summer

Do you enjoy working outdoors, being active and making a visible difference in your local community?

Inner West Council is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Summer Casual Parks and Streetscape Workers to join our Parks & Streetscape team for the upcoming summer season.

This is a fantastic chance to gain practical experience in local government, learn new skills and contribute to maintaining the beautiful parks, verges, streetscapes and public spaces that our community enjoys every day.

If you have a great attitude, robust work ethic and willingness to learn, we'll provide on-the-job training and support to help you succeed.

Successful applicants must be available to commence from 14 September 2026.

Working as part of Council's Streetscape Operations team, you will assist with the maintenance and presentation of streetscapes and public open spaces across the Inner West.

Your responsibilities may include:

- Verge and streetscape mowing
- Whipper snipping and edging
- Turf maintenance
- Weed management
- Litter collection and maintaining clean public spaces
- Operating and maintaining tools, equipment and machinery safely
- Responding to community requests and contributing to a positive customer experience
- Supporting other Parks & Streetscape teams as required

You’ll work as part of a supportive team that takes pride in delivering high quality outcomes for the community.

About You

We're looking for people who:

- Enjoy working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Are physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual work
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Can work effectively as part of a team
- Are reliable, punctual and safety focused
- Have good communication skills and can follow work schedules and directions
- Take pride in maintaining public spaces for the community

$44.13 per hour (inclusive of Casual Loading) + 12% Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications





- Demonstrated ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to comprehend maps, street signage & work schedules and complete daily report forms.
- Ability to learn to use field devices (e.g. tablets) for managing daily team work plans.
- Understanding and commitment to equal employment opportunities, diversity, work health and safety, ethical practice and acting with probity at all times.
- NSW Class C Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence or willingness to obtain
- Suitable level of fitness to perform the inherent duties of the position.
