Position Overview

Senior Supply Support Lead – Hybrid – RAAF Amberley – Queensland, Australia.

The role focuses on sustaining Defence's F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler capabilities. You will lead and manage supply support activities within a high‑performing integrated logistics support environment, ensuring delivery of solutions that enhance operational readiness and directly support Australia's air combat capability.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage Asset Coordinators and oversee inventory management, maintaining stock levels and ensuring the integrity of material control.
- Analyse complex problems and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks and issues that impact key stakeholders’ deliverables.
- Provide KPI reports from Inventory Management Systems to identify performance trends and implement appropriate remediation.
- Review, revise, and authorise procurement and repairs.
- Act as subject‑matter expert on freight handling and export/import operations coordination.
- Plan and schedule material management activities.
- Review, revise, and authorise risk‑based transfer of stock to meet inventory optimisation levels.
- Address complex problems and mitigate risks to avoid delays and unnecessary expenditure.
- Resolve non‑conforming products.
- Plan and conduct supportability (End of Service Life / Production) polling.
- Verify procurement/repair recommendations using inventory management tools and analysis.
- Manage inventory locations to optimise holdings, procurements, and repairs.
- Oversee repairable item activities,



including management and control of repairs and technical regulatory reports.
- Coordinate freight and distribution activities using standard national and international freight agents and develop custom freight solutions.
- Contribute to performance management and reporting against key performance indicators.
- Perform fleet management, including providing disposal recommendations.
- Travel may be required within Australia and internationally to fulfil role requirements.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

- Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Distribution or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3‑5 years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritising, coaching and process execution.
- Specialised knowledge of technical or operational practices within logistics, supply chain, transportation or distribution obtained through advanced education and experience.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security clearance.
