Overview
Young – Rural Generalist Nurse Practitioner, NSW Government, Riverina, NSW. This is a full-time on-site position with opportunities for career growth within the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD).
Role
- Join the Young Cluster to apply advanced clinical knowledge and extended practice skills across a range of stable, unpredictable and complex care settings.
Responsibilities
- Manage a broad range of acute and chronic presentations and coordinate referrals to facilitate integrated care across disciplines or teams.
- Practice autonomously initiating and managing patient care and/or monitoring ongoing therapy within scope of practice, providing effective pharmacological and evidence-based interventions.
- Provide leadership in preventative health programs and patient education in various settings.
- Utilise the best available evidence to guide treatment in consultation with general practitioners and specialist medical officers.
About You / Qualifications
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse / Midwife with AHPRA, with approximately three years of full-time experience in an advanced nursing role within a rural care environment.
- Demonstrated advanced nursing practice in a clinical leadership role in the intended practice area within the past five years, complemented by research, education and management experience.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team across acute and community settings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation abilities, and computer literacy (word processing and databases).
- Leadership in teaching and education with involvement in research and quality activities.
- Eligibility to drive with a current Class C driver’s licence and willingness to travel for work, including long distances within the MLHD.
