The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Queensland region. The Regional and Specialist team includes Integrated Specialist Services, Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, Primary Healthcare Services, Birthing and Early Childhood Services (South), and Child and Youth Services. About the Role

As Clinic Nurse – Pamela Mam Health Centre, your role is responsible for specialist community and primary health nursing services focused on the prevention, early detection and management of health problems for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. As a member of a multi‑disciplinary team, you will ensure effective screening, service delivery and administration practices are delivered in accordance with the IUIH Model of Care. The role will entail service delivery from designated primary clinic locations and outreach services, under limited supervision, as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide effective first point of medical engagement including triage assessments, taking of medical history/detail, assignment of patient, and completion of preliminary procedures.
- Provide routine screening services to patients including blood pressures, blood sugar levels, temperatures, urine testing (routine and pregnancy tests), weight, length and head circumference (in children under three).
- Treat wounds and other clinical procedures as directed by the doctor.
- Attend to home visits with doctor if required.




- Provide treatment and care to patient under the direction of the doctor, including immunisation of children under five years old against childhood diseases as by the doctor.

Qualifications

- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
- AHPRA Registration.
- Bachelor of Nursing.
- Current CPR Certificate.
- Demonstrated clinic‑based experience in a primary health care setting.
- Desirable but not mandatory: demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities.
