About the Opportunity

MCS Civil is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to play a key role in securing and delivering essential infrastructure projects.

This is an opportunity for a commercially driven estimator to take ownership of complex civil infrastructure tenders, from initial review and pricing strategy through to submission, negotiation and project handover.

The role allows ownership, collaboration and involvement beyond the numbers.

About the Role

Reporting to senior management, you will lead the estimating function across a range of civil infrastructure opportunities.

You will be responsible for developing competitive, accurate and commercially robust tenders while supporting the business in making informed decisions around project delivery, risk and chance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end estimating processes for major civil infrastructure tenders
- Review tender documentation, specifications and project requirements
- Develop pricing strategies, cost plans and tender submissions
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs and first-principles estimating
- Analyse project risks, opportunities and commercial considerations
- Engage with subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders
- Identify value engineering opportunities and constructability improvements
- Support tender negotiations and commercial reviews
- Prepare accurate handover information for project delivery teams




- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes

Skills & Experience

- Proven experience as a Senior Civil Estimator within civil construction or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and project delivery
- Experience preparing tenders for major civil works
- Ability to complete detailed cost planning and first-principles estimating
- Strong commercial understanding and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documentation
- Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

Experience estimating Energy infrastructure, Transmission lines, Substations, Rail infrastructure, Roads and earthworks, Concrete structures, Utilities, Piling works

Additional Experience and Qualifications

- Experience with estimating software (Cubit, CostX, Expert Estimation, Benchmark or similar)
- Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying qualification
- Understanding of Australian contract frameworks including AS4000 / GC21
