About the role

As Manager Asset Investment & Lifecycle, you'll lead the development and optimisation of asset lifecycle models, forecasts and asset planning strategies that support the Annual Works Plan and broader asset management objectives. You'll work closely with stakeholders across engineering, maintenance, operations, projects and planning, translating technical information into clear insights that support decision-making, strengthen asset management capability and improve long-term investment outcomes.

Key accountabilities include:

· Lead asset lifecycle modelling and investment planning activities of infrastructure assets across V/Line’s rail network.

· Develop and maintain asset lifecycle models, degradation profiles and forecasting methodologies.

· Drive the development of Asset Management Plans, Asset Class Strategies, long-term works plans, and rolling forecasts of Annual Works Plan workbanks.

· Use modelling outputs to support funding, risk and investment decisions.

· Deliver reporting and data visualisation that improves visibility of asset performance and risks.





· Partner with stakeholders across the business to influence priorities and embed lifecycle planning practices.

· Lead, coach and develop a small team.

· Contribute to the ongoing improvement of asset management systems, processes and capability.

Occasional travel across Victoria may be required to support site visits and stakeholder engagement activities.

About you

You're an experienced asset management professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with strategic thinking. You know how to turn complex data into practical insights, build trusted relationships across a business and communicate technical concepts in a way that engages different audiences.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

· Proven experience in asset lifecycle modelling and asset management, including the use of predictive modelling tools to inform planning and investment decisions.

· Demonstrated analytical, technical and reporting experience, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.

· Experience engaging and influencing stakeholders across a complex organisation, including presenting technical information to diverse audiences.

· Experience in strategic asset planning and investment decision-making, ideally within transport, rail or other infrastructure asset-intensive environments.

· Demonstrated leadership experience, including developing capability and leading high-performing teams.

· A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
